THE COMET LINE

Most-picked six-rune configuration in the Patch 26.17 source snapshot. Summoners, shards, start, and skill order below are clearly marked editorial defaults.

LANE IS A FIRING SOLUTION.

Don’t spend mana because Q is available. Spend it when the wave, enemy cooldowns, and your escape line agree.

Own the diagonal

Stand offset from your ADC. Charge Q from fog or outside the enemy’s direct engage line; release through the champion without wrecking the wave.

POKE when their ADC locks into a last-hit

Hold E as a boundary

E is not free poke into hard engage. Keep it for the first champion crossing your safety line, then W to slow the retreat path.

DISENGAGE before you chase damage

Buy pressure, not ego

Prioritize boots when dodging decides the lane. Buy control wards only when you can defend the vision they purchase.

RESET after the wave reaches tower

READ THE MAP BEFORE YOU FIRE.

Xerath creates pressure at range but dies when information collapses. These are the signals that convert poke into safe tempo.

WARD

Move vision before the wave

When your lane will push, shift the next ward toward the river route the enemy jungler must take—not the bush they have already passed.

ROAM

Leave only on a paid window

Roam after your ADC can collect safely and the wave is moving away from you. If neither is true, your “roam” is donated lane pressure.

ULT

Open with certainty

Use R on slowed, crowd-controlled, or route-locked targets. Reposition between shots; the next dodge pattern matters more than firing instantly.

EXIT

End the sequence early

If E is down and the enemy engage is unseen, the poke window is closed. Give ground before fog turns range advantage into a flank.

CHANGE THE RULE, NOT THE CHAMPION.

Identify what can invalidate your range. Adapt the first five minutes before adapting the whole build.

Play across the lane from the engage support so one line cannot threaten both you and your ADC. Punish missed hooks or dashes with a full Q–W window.

Item bias: Zhonya’s when dive remains unavoidable.

RANGE IS ONLY AN ADVANTAGE
WHILE YOU CAN SEE THE THREAT.

Copy the core. Read the conditions. Strike forward only when the field agrees.
